Dr. Akutah, represented by Mrs. Ify Okolue, while delivering his goodwill message highlighted the Nigerian Shippers’ Council’s role as Nigeria’s Port Economic Regulator, emphasizing the Blue Economy’s potential for economic growth, job creation, and maritime security in the Niger Delta.
The three-day event was rounded off with a colourful gala night, where individuals and institutions were honoured for their contributions to the sector.
Dr. Pius Akutah received an award for his “Significant Contribution Towards Efforts in Promoting a Sustainable Marine and Blue Economy,” particularly for his leadership in resolving disputes within the maritime community, an achievement that has further boosted the Council’s visibility and impact.
The conference successfully deepened stakeholder dialogue and set the tone for accelerating a resilient Blue Economy, aligning with Nigeria’s economic diversification agenda, according to organisers.
