‘Our pots are empty, we’re hungry’ woman cries at Lagos EndBadGovernance Protest

Contrary to claims of supply, and cut in price of rice and other grains in the country, a woman was on Thursday spotted among other protesters carrying her hallow dry pot signaling severe hunger.

The woman who joined other Nigerians to the #EndBadGovernance protest in Lagos at Kudirat Abiola Way in Ikeja, Lagos was overhead intoning, “we are hungry, our children are hungry” while she clutches on her deep empty pot.
The protest which is part of citizen’s larger movement throughout the country to express their displeasure with the state of the economy and governmental policies had Lots of people in attendance.

The protest said to last from August 1 to 10 took place in Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Kano, Jos and many other cities of the country to bring to the attention of government the pervasive hunger in the land and high unemployment, inflation, and unstable economic conditions.

The woman’s empty pot drew both sympathy and empathy from many other Nigerians who were earlier apathetic to the protest to join to express their feel of hunger and adversity, thereby amplifying the voices of those struggling to make ends meet, those asking just to have the basic needs of life.
