Osun Poll: Ododo congratulates Adeleke, urges political unity for greater progress

The Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has congratulated Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election, urging him to use the renewed mandate to unite the people and accelerate the development of the state.

Ododo, in a congratulatory message signed by the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, described Adeleke as his “brother and colleague” and said the election outcome represented a fresh mandate from the people of Osun State.

According to him, the renewed mandate provides Adeleke with another opportunity to consolidate the achievements of his administration and deepen policies and programmes aimed at improving the lives of the people.

The Kogi governor called on Adeleke to extend the hand of fellowship to all political tendencies and interests in the state, irrespective of their affiliations or positions during the just-concluded election.

With the electoral contest now over, Ododo said the focus should shift from political competition to governance, reconciliation and collective development.

He urged the Osun governor to continue to uphold what he described as the progressive ideals guiding his administration while ensuring that the benefits of government reach all sections of the state.

Ododo stressed that the responsibility for developing Osun could not be left to government alone, noting that citizens, political leaders, traditional institutions, civil society and other stakeholders all had roles to play.

He therefore urged all political actors and their supporters to put their differences behind them and rally around the common interest of Osun State.

“The task of developing Osun State belongs to all its citizens, irrespective of political affiliation,” the governor said.

He maintained that Adeleke’s renewed mandate should serve as an opportunity to strengthen unity, deepen cooperation and build a stronger foundation for sustainable development across the state.

Ododo also expressed optimism that the governor would use the new tenure to consolidate ongoing programmes and pursue initiatives capable of improving the welfare and economic prospects of the people.

He wished Adeleke a successful second term and called on the people of Osun to support efforts aimed at promoting peace, stability and development in the state.
