Ododo celebrates Smart Adeyemi at 66, hails his contributions to Kogi, journalism, Nigeria

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has congratulated former Senator Smart Adeyemi on his 66th birthday, describing him as a distinguished journalist, patriot, statesman and worthy son of Kogi State whose life has been marked by courage, perseverance and service to humanity.

In a congratulatory message, Governor Ododo celebrated Adeyemi’s remarkable transition from journalism to public service, noting that his decades of contributions to the media, democratic development and legislative governance have earned him a significant place in the political and social history of Kogi State and Nigeria.

The governor particularly commended the former senator’s contributions to journalism and democratic development, as well as his consistent advocacy for the interests of his constituents and the broader development of Kogi State.

According to Ododo, Adeyemi has distinguished himself as a strong voice for his people and a respected participant in national affairs, bringing his experience, courage and intellectual capacity to bear in various spheres of public life.

He described the former senator as an important stakeholder whose experience and contributions continue to enrich conversations on the development of Kogi State and the nation.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Kogi State, I warmly felicitate with Senator Smart Adeyemi on the occasion of his 66th birthday.

“Your life is a testament to the power of courage, perseverance and service. From your remarkable years in journalism to your distinguished years in public service, you have consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to the progress of our people and the development of our nation.

“Kogi State is proud of your contributions and the honour you have brought to our state through your accomplishments,” the governor said.

Ododo also acknowledged Adeyemi’s years of service in the media and politics, noting that his public career has provided him with platforms to contribute to national discourse and represent the interests of his people.

He prayed for continued strength, wisdom and good health for the celebrant, while wishing him many more years of impactful service.

“As you celebrate this milestone, I pray that Almighty God will grant you renewed strength, sound health, wisdom and many more years of impactful service to humanity and our dear state.

“Happy 66th birthday to you, Senator. May the years ahead bring you greater fulfilment, peace and enduring accomplishments,” he added.

The governor joined Adeyemi’s family, friends, political associates, former colleagues and well-wishers in celebrating the milestone and wishing him continued good health, fulfilment and fruitful contributions to the development of Kogi State and Nigeria.
