MWUN, NARTO, others sign MOU on effective maritime haulage operations

The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) in collaboration with the Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) and the newly formed National Association of Maritime Truck Operators (NAMTOP) on Monday in Lagos, signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) alongside the inauguration of members of Board Of Trustee for effective haulage port operations.

The agreement also witnessed the introduction and inauguration of management team members and field operators.

The event had in attendance members of MWUN led by its President General, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, National President of NARTO , Alhaji Yusuf Lawan Ottoman and President of NAMTOP,

Comrade Adeyanju, President of MWUN while speaking at the gathering Harper on that need for the understanding to hinge on sincerity of purpose by the parties involved to effect a change in port operations.

Adeyanju called on members of Dockworkers Branch to support the MoU urging them to shun any form thuggery to discourage the collaboration.

On his part , President of NARTO, noted that the groups would work together collectively to addressing issues of trucking business in port operations.

Yusuf further lauded the MWUN for its various interventions to support truckers adding that the collaboration would effect a change for the betterment of haulage activities within the maritime space.

Similarly, Coordinator of NAMTOP, Moruf Raheem affirmed that the synergy will bring about sanity in port operations noting it would further address the challenges faced by the stakeholders in haulage activities.

A total of fifteen individuals from the three groups were inauguration as Board of Trustees (BOT)
