Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, Director, Human and Environmental Development Agenda(HEDA) Resources Centre, Alhaji Olanrewaju Suraju, Founder, Youthslens Movement of Nigeria(YMN), Ms. Juliana Francis, and other important dignitaries are billed to be at the Alimosho Kids Sport’s Competitions.
The median edition of the inter-schools competition will start
on Monday, 16 March, 2020 at the Ejigbo Mini Stadium, Ejigbo.
The tournament, is for students under the ages of 13/15 years in the Alimosho council area.
Othe dignitaries expected at the final ceremony includes, Vice President, Preshfaith Education Centre, Lolo Juliet Akanador, businessman, Comrade Kingsley Ibeh, Vice Chairmen, Igando/Ikotun and Egbe/Idimu Local Council Development Areas.
A number of corporate companies are also expected. They include, Nigerian Breweries Plc for non alcoholic drinks, Seven-Up Bottling Company, Polaris Bank Plc, Munch it, Alimosho Mail online and others.
The competition is being organized by a grassroots media outfit, St Bishop Communication Limited.
Speaking on the event, Chief Executive Officer of the organising firm, Mr. Stanley Ihedigbo, said that the competition is geared to ‘catch them young’ using sporting activities to dissuade them from crime and direct them to moral rectitude.
The sporting competition is organized for both males and females in primary/ Junior and Senior Secondary schools in Alimosho Local Government Area are.
They are to compete in football, lawn tennis, table tennis and scrabble games.
He added that, the event would create a platform for competent counsellors to advise the students against, cultism, drug abuse, rape and other vices that may destroy their destiny.
