Emani crisis: Deposed Obobanyi tenders apology as commissioner outlines reinstatement terms

The Kogi State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Salami Momodu Ozigi Deedat, on Tuesday received members of the Emani clan at his office in Lokoja, where the deposed Obobanyi of Emani, HRH Samuel Adai Onimisi, formally tendered an apology letter as part of efforts to secure his reinstatement.
According to a statement signed by the Ministry’s Public Relations Officer, Olajumoke Ajani, the Emani delegation visited the Commissioner in a bid to seek peaceful resolution of the lingering chieftaincy dispute.
The Commissioner however outlined specific prerequisites that must be met before any consideration of reinstatement can be considered.
Obobanyi tendered his apology letter and stated that the process of withdrawing the court case is ongoing.
The Commissioner encouraged all traditional rulers to see themselves as ambassadors of peace and harmony in their domains.
