By Ezurike Ugochukwu

The Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade (Prince) Dr Adewale Adeyanju, has congratulated the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) on its 72nd anniversary, commending its enduring contributions to Nigeria’s clearing and forwarding industry.

Adeyanju, a former President-General of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) and current President of the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF), identified with ANLCA members as the association marked another milestone in its history.

In a congratulatory message, the labour leader described ANLCA as a pioneering body in Nigeria’s clearing industry, noting that the association had navigated several challenges over the decades while maintaining its relevance in the maritime sector.

He commended the association’s members for their contributions to customs clearing and related services, particularly within the maritime industry, where he said ANLCA and the Maritime Workers’ Union had maintained a longstanding relationship.

He said the association had demonstrated resilience by navigating what he described as the “rough waters” of the industry and emerging as a recognised name in Nigeria’s clearing and forwarding space.
