AGM group rallies support for Oyebamiji, NIWA Managing Director

A support group, AMBO Grassroot Movement(AGM) has discreetly sustained its statewide mobilisation for the Osun State governorship ambition of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji.

The AMBO Grassrooters Movement, an influential political support group visited Egbedore Local Government aimed to mobilising community support.

The rally afforded the group opportunity to officially inaugurate ward and unit coordinators as part of preparations for the 2026 elections.

Speaking, Hon. Ogunfolaju, on behalf of the AMBO Grassrooters, expressed gratitude to APC leaders in Egbedore for their warm reception.

She emphasized that the group’s dedication to Oyebamiji is rooted in their belief in his vision and his capability to return the APC to power in 2026.

Ogunfolaju described Oyebamiji a former Osun State Commissioner for Finance and current Managing Director/CEO of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), as an inspiring leader with integrity, experience, and a strong commitment to public service.

The NIWA boss is seeking support to emerge as the All Progressives Congress(APC) standard-bearer. The AMBO team has been on a statewide tour, previously visiting local governments such as Ila, Isokan, Irewole, Ede South, Irepodun, Orolu, and Olorunda.

Speaking also, Hon. Gbolahan Ayegbayo highlighted Oyebamiji’s consistent loyalty to the APC and affirmed that he is a party man whose actions aligned with the values and directives of the party. He also dismissed speculations about pre-arranged positions, stating that the focus is on unity and merit.

Egbedore LG Chairman, Hon. Issa Akinwale, lauded Oyebamiji for his steady support to the party at both local and state levels, commended Oyebamiji’s track record of competence, integrity, and leadership.

It will be recalled that former Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, Timothy Owoeye, ex-aides of Rauf Aregbesola, Adegboyega Oyetola and youth forum declared their support for the NIWA boss in his desire to fly the APC flag.

At the then deceleration, Oyebamiji also met with other supporters including youth groups, Osun Progressives People’s Forum(OPPF) among others at Tinubu/Shettima campaign office after which he led them to APC state Secretariat to meet party Executives.

He addressed them as thus, “After consulting with leaders of the party about my aspiration to become the governor of the State in 2026, I come here today to declare my intention.

“I have what it takes to be governor if my party, APC give me the guber ticket. I will not just contest, I will win by the support of everyone. We have seen how this state is mismanage under the current government, they have totally deviate which is not sitting well with the tenets of our party.

“I am presenting myself to rescue this state. I have what it takes to govern the state because of my experience in private and public sector. I have garner experience having served as Finance commissioner in the state,” stated.
