The five years of the rulling All Progressive Congress(APC), in the governance of the country has been described as an abysmal failure and an embarrassing outing which its place in the sands of time can be better traced to the dustbin of history.

Dr Kalu

A Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP), Dr Emeka Kalu in a release made available to nation update online decried the huge debt profile of the country without any verifiable key infrastructures to justify the amount borrowed so far.

The five years of APC in Nigeria he alleged has not delivered to Nigerians the promised dividend of democracy in anyway, he called on Nigerians to vote them out as their record of unprecedented failures could be traced to the dustbin of history.

The present administration he said has tucked the nation into homogeneous borrowing that has no bearing on the life of citizens as they have made as much as borrowing, “$3.4 billion loan from IMF, $2.5 billion loan from IBRD, $1 billion loan from AfDB, N850 billion domestic loan, N150 billion Ijarah Sukuk loan

Kalu further stated that not minding the loans already collected, a freash request is being made as, “$3.4 billion loan from IMF, $1.5 billion loan from IBRD, $500 million loan from AfDB, $113 million loan from IsDB.This is in addition to the existing about
N28 trillion debt (80% borne by the FG).”

He went down memory lane to recall that the present administration inherited little above #7 trillion, today what the citizens only hear of when approval of billions are made.

Kalu said the citizens are often harassed and intimidated whenever they try to criticise government policies using such state apparatus as the DSS and police.

“The APC led Federal Government  has become unpopular and are now using force to intimidate  states in opposition, sponsor campaigns of calumny against them and generate political and economic tensions within their states,” he said.

Kalu who was a governorship aspirant of the PDP in the 2019 general elections urged Nigerians not in anyway may lose hope on the Nigerian project, that PDP has what it takes to reclaim power come 2023, and get the country back on the path of growth.
