The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Kogi command has warned that any officer caught extorting motorists on the highways will face sundry disciplinary measures including dismissal.

The Sector Commander, Kogi FRSC, Samuel Oyedeji gave the warning while declaring open a workshop for heads of operations at the command’s head office in Lokoja, Kogi State.

Warned that any officer found wanting in his or her duty would be severely dealt with by the corps’ rules and even face dismissal to serve as a deterrent to others who would wish to tread same path

Oyedeji said, “We are in Kogi as officers and men of the corps to serve diligently; and that we must put at the back of our minds.

“Any act that could tarnish our image as a corps should be avoided and we should rather project the FRSC in good light before the public,” he said.

The safety of travellers on the highways he maintained should be paramount to the corps and urged officers to be proactive in reaching out during road accidents and not delaying.
