CSR: School of Eloquence sharpens skills of Lagoon Sch teachers, takes them on inspired Teachers Masterclass

The leading Nigerian institution for public speaking and communication training, ‘School of Eloquence’ announced the successful conclusion of the Inspired Teachers Masterclass for teachers of Lagoon School, Lekki, Lagos.

The three days programme was a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of School of Eloquence in collaboration with Lagoon School.

According to the Programmes Coordinator, Christine Davies, the masterclass took place at the School of Eloquence headquarters in Ikoyi, Lagos and ran through Monday 26, to Tuesday 27 and Thursday 29, August, 2024.

The Inspired Teachers Masterclass was designed to empower educators with advanced communication and leadership skills to enhance their teaching effectiveness.

The training initiative highlighted the School of Eloquence’s commitment to supporting educational excellence and nurturing teachers who inspire and lead future generations.

In attendance was 108 educators from Lagoon Primary and Secondary Schools. Advanced Communication Skills: Techniques to improve clarity, confidence, and engagement in teaching. Motivational Strategies: Tools to sustain high levels of student motivation and participation were major highlights of the masterclass.

Other highlights include Leadership in Education: Empowerment for teachers to take on leadership roles within their schools and communities. Personal and Professional Growth: Encouragement of resilience, innovation, and continuous improvement in teaching practices.
Mr. Ubong Essien, CSP, a highly regarded public speaker and Dean of the School of Eloquence
led other teachers to the class.

Essien, well known as Nigeria’s Mister Motivator with decades of experience in communication and leadership training, provided the teachers with valuable insights and practical skills to enhance their performance and impact in the educational sector. Essien stated, “We were honored to partner with Lagoon School for this significant initiative.

“Teachers are the cornerstone of our educational system, and by investing in their growth and development, we are investing in the future of our children and our nation.”
The event was however built on existing collaboration between the School of Eloquence and Lagoon School, which began in March 2024.

As part of their co-curricular program, the School of Eloquence had been providing public speaking training to students of Lagoon School every Monday, helping them develop essential communication skills from an early age. Christine Davies added that the Inspired Teachers Masterclass underscored the School of Eloquence’s dedication to impactful CSR efforts that empowers both educators and students.
