MWUN leaders meet NPA MD to strengthen partnership

The President-General of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade Francis Bunu Abi, has led a delegation to meet with the Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho and some of his Executive Directors, Wednesday this week at his Marina Headquarters office, Lagos.

In an e-signed release by Comrade John Kennedy Ikemefuna head of Media MWUN, the visit was to familiarize the recently elected executive officers of the Union with Dr. Dantsoho and his team.

Comrade Bunu said the visit was necessary to acquaint themselves with each other, as the Union and the Ports Authority are partners in progress in the maritime sector, and both organizations cannot work in isolation.

The foremost labour leader Bunu, says the visit afforded the MWUN Executives the opportunity to congratulate the MD of the Ports Authority on the International Maritime Organization (IMO) category ‘C’ seat recently won for Nigeria by Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Honourable Adegboyega Oyetola.

Comrade Bunu described the achievement as laudable and a significant milestone for Nigeria’s Maritime sector, saying it’s a bold step that will advance the country’s maritime industry.

Dr. Dantsoho thanked the MWUN President-General and his team, assuring them of continued collaboration to make Nigeria’s maritime industry a thriving hub locally and globally.
