Pastor allegedly kills female member, prevents 20 year old daughter from attending burial

Just as the dust of the recent death of a married church evangelist during an allegedly marathon sex session with her church Overseer in a Guest House in Aba, Abia State was yet to settle, a Port Harcourt based  Pastor, Blessing Otobo, the General Overseer of Unstoppable Gospel Movement Ministry, is now in the news for allegedly killing one Mrs Gloria Ijeoma Ndubuisi Ogu.

Late Gloria who hailed from Umuehie Duruodu, Umuezeala Nsu Ehime Mbano, in Imo State died in April 2023 and was buried in August.

After the death and burial of her husband about 20 years ago, late Mrs Ogu left her husband’s house with her 4 months old baby, Chidera and resided in Port Harcourt with Pastor Blessing Otobo of Unstoppable Gospel Movement Ministry, “Aka Prevailers Praise Ministry”.

During the burial of her mother, Chidera who is now 20 years old was not allowed by her abductor Blessing Otobo to attend the burial and since then has been in his confinement for reasons unknown.

All efforts made by family members to reach her have been totally disallowed by the pastor.

Brother to late Gloria, and first son to late Anorue’s family from Obuzo -Agwu, in Oguta Local Government Area also in Imo State, Chinedu Anorue said his sister, the late Ogu had been living with Pastor Blessing who had confused her with fake prophecies.

Anorue narrated that the late Gloria became sick and was placed on oxygen, none including their younger sister who also has been living with her in the pastor’s house never told him because the pastor had confused and biased their minds against him for the simple reason he had rebuked her on the unjust relationship she was having with a married ‘so-called man of God’. Anorue said he was not in support to such ungodly relationship.

Anorue who is living with the late Gloria’s first child Amarachi in Onitsha, Anambra State said the pastor’s married and legitimate wife Anwuri Chukuigwe, came to him to report how the late sister, her child Chidera and other sibling had pushed her out of her matrimonial home and taken over her kitchen, the entire house and that her husband (Otobo) had declared her persona none grata in her matrimonial home.

“We told my sister that since your husband has died, you may decide to get married to any other man if you wish, we will support that rather than getting on with this pastor, and hurting the wife that had accommodated you when you were in need.

“Unfortunately, when suitors ask her hand in marriage, the pastor will give her prophesy that the person is not her husband. This he has been doing to hold her down to himself, and to live with him at the detriment of his marriage,” Anorue narrated.

He said: “Their relationship brought so much insult to my family. Since her husband had died, she gave us the impression that her brothers and sister in-laws were not ready to accommodate and take care of her. I so felt that as the brother, I vowed to stand by her not knowing she was telling us lies. Not knowing they were asking her to come home, they were also supporting her. All these she was doing to safeguard her amorous relationship with this faceless so called pastor.

“She displaced the wife which I cautioned and kicked against, I did not support that as well as our family, we have tried to bring out my sister from the hand of this fake pastor, but to no avail”, Anorue stated.

He continued, “The pastor gave fake prophesy to the daughter of my sister ‘Chidera’ not to attend the mother’s burial and she did not come, rather she was in Port Harcourt in the man’s house celebrating his 47th birthday with him, even as her mother was still in the mortuary within this period she ought to be in mourning mood.

“This pastor brainwashed my sister, deceived and uselessed her. He has fully concentrated on Chidera, brainwashing her. Imagine decieving her not to attend the burial of her mother that God revealed to him that she should not come. This man has given us tough time in this family, together with thier other accomplice they have conspired to push the pastor’s wife away and took over the home.

“Because my sister was dully married that was why I had to trace her husband’s family in Ehime-Mbano to bring her corpse back to her matrimonial home.

“It is important Chidera is brought out from this man before it is too late. We are appealing to human right bodies, God fearing influential personalities and Rivers State  government to come to our rescue.

“I took the first daughter Amarachi when she was 7years. she is now 22, she has been with us. I and my wife trained her from primary; secondary to now she is in nursing,” Anorue pleaded with his in-laws from Ehime- Mbano to join him in the rescue of Chidera from the pastor.

The first child, Amarachi also pleaded for help to bring back her only sister from the pastor’s  confinement. “Am worried that my sister may be wasted in that house the way my mother has also been wasted” Amarachi lamented.

She said she was shocked her sister Chidera was not at the burial of their mother to pay her the last respect.

Otobo

“It was unbelievable, am so pained and bewildered that this pastor has succeeded to kill my mother and now on my sister. It’s almost a year since I spoke with her last. Am very convinced my sister Chidrea is not in her right senses. This pastor has been deceiving her with his fake prophesies.

“How can any sensible person, a young girl whose father is late is not showing any desire to unite with me her only surviving sister, what else does she have, is it normal? I have no iota of doubt that something is wrong somewhere,” she asked.

“What would she be doing in the house of a man who is not her father, not her family member, and refuse to attain her mother’s burial, it’s quite unimaginable” Amarachi expressed.

When contacted on phone, the pastor who tried to evade questions from Nation Update even as he had shown desire to speak at the beginning.

He directed our reporter to go and make inquiry on the death of Gloria from the younger brother Ikechukwu even when he was told the eldest brother had given the position of the family on the matter.

But after explaining to him on the need to hear his own side regardless of who had spoken, he somewhat told the reporter he was in a Super Market.

Again, the reporter sought, “since you are in a supermarket, could you give time to call you back”,  he rather responded: “Am not afraid of what you are going to write, I have told you am in a supermarket don’t you get that, if you are a professional, you ought to get that”, let me get out of this place, what kind of nonsense is this, and switched off his phone.

The wife of the pastor Anwuri Chukuigwe, who gave detailed account of her ordeals in the hands of Otobo and her late mistress, Gloria, revealed how she has been thrown out of their house since 2019. Maintained she has moved on with her life, that her only worry is that Pastor Otobo deprived her access to her children.
