You’re inexperienced on matters of governance, Kalu tells Uwazuruike

...concentrate on freedom fighting

Leader of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Ralph Uwazuruike has been advised to concentrate his efforts, prioritise freedom fighting and leave governance for those who are experienced and well grounded in it.

To this end, he has been reminded that attacking Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State for taking such a drastic action as demolishing the two hotels in the state was in the interest of the state and against lawless citizens who take delight in jeorpadising the lives of others.

The Director-General, Global Initiative for Good Governance, Dr Emeka Kalu made the call in his press statement following the recent outburst of Uwazuruike over the demolition of Prudent and Elemeteh Hotels in the State by Wike for running foul of extant laws

He advised Uwazuruike to tread with caution, that the country is living in difficult times of fighting Coronavirus pandemic threatening its existence, that it takes the right experience, actions and reactions to take drastic action as this, in order to keep the society in check.

The astute politician reminded the MASSOB  factional leader that leadership and activism are two different ball games, that as a matter of priority, he should concentrate on his means of livelihood, which is freedom fighting and allow elected leaders to protect their people in the best way they can.

He decried, that Uwazuruike seems to be, or feigning ignorant of what an “Executive Order” is all about, that though the measure may appear  extreme or harsh, but there is need for such drastic approach to unruly behaviours that would serve as deterrent to others.

“When you understand the meaning of an “Executive Order” as was exercised by Gov Wike, you will know that it is to the best interest of the people. It is true you may see the measure as extreme or harsh, but tell me how a state Governor can put some recalcitrant fellows like Princwill Osaroejiji in check if not to send a signal that will serve as deterrent even in the future, especially to others?

“The worst thing that can happen to a state or nation is to have a weak leader in charge in times of great challenge like now. When it happens, the entire citizens become vulnerable to the whims and caprices of the daredevil few. Therefore Uwazuruike has no moral rights to question the decisions emanating from “Executive Order” exercised in the interest of the people,” he said.

Kalu took a swipe on Uwazuruike, wondered  the point he wished to score  by making unguided statements that could pitch the Igbos in the Riverine area against their brothers in the  hinterland.

Dr.Kalu, a former governorship aspirant in Abia State in the 2019 general elections reminded the MASSOB leader that attacking Wike will not help him in any way, as the situation on ground today does not require paying attention to frivolities.

“Nigeria is at a precarious state, every step being taken by Government both at state and federal levels to keep the people safe are yielding results. We as Nigerians should respect them, shun political stunt for relevance and comply to safety instructions or be sorry,” Kalu stated.
