Third southern governors’ meeting in 4 months holds in  Enugu

The resuscitated meeting of the southern state governors, the third in the series holds tomorrow Thursday in Enugu, Enugu State capital South-Eastern state.
The meeting is the third in four months. The first was held in Asaba and second was in Lagos on May 5 and July 11 respectively.
The first and second meetings of the governors were held in Asaba, Delta State and Lagos, Lagos State respectively and the 17 governors will on Thursday, September 16, converge on Enugu for their third meeting this year.
 The last meeting in Lagos it was resolved that the 17 states should enact the anti-open grazing law with a deadline put at September 1, 2021.
Only Imo State governor Hope Uzodimma was the only governor absent from the meeting while his deputy Placid Njoku represented him at the Asaba meeting.
However, the Imo governor has declined to implement the anti-open grazing law agreed upon.
The Enugu meeting is expected to hold at the Government House, Enugu like every other meeting.
