The Director-General(DG) of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has embarked on a two – day visit to Enugu State that will take him to National Metrology Institute(NMI, a calls on the state Governor, the GOC,82 Division, Nigerian Army and the Commissioner of Police.
The SON DG, Mallam Farouk Salim, is expected to take the crusade on the need for standardization, regulation of products quality and growth in capacity utilization of the industries in Nigeria to the rural dwellers as he embarks on familiarisation tour of the Coal City State of Enugu from Tuesday, 24th November,2020.
During the tour that will take him to the various establishments and Offices under him, he will interact with government officials and concerned stakeholders.While at the NMI, he will also interact with Staff of the agency.
The second day of Mallam Farouk’s visit which will be on the 25th November,2020 will see him pay courtesy calls on the Executive Governor of Enugu State,Mr Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the General Officer Commanding 82 Division of the Nigerian Army Enugu and the State Commissioner of Police.

He is also expected to visit the Engineering laboratory, South East Regional Office and the State Office, all located in Emene industrial layout, Emene in Enugu State.
The headquarters of SON it would be recalled was originally cited in Enugu, but later moved to Lagos and finally to Abuja the Federal Capital Territory.
The SON Chief Executive is expected to interact with Members of the Organised Private Sector and Stakeholders in the State during the visit before returning to Abuja.
