Sen. Odua supporters decry use , dump tactics

...give 14 day ultimatum
…ask Anambra North to

The Campaign Managers of the Senator Stella Odua Campaign Organisation, Anambra North Senatorial zone have staged a protest to express their displeasure over what they termed her “use and dump” attitude.

The Managers while briefing newsmen in Onitsha, Anambra State, gave Odua 14 days ultimatum to address their grievances or face their wrath.

The chairman of the group Chief Fabian Ohanaya and Secretary, High Chief Dan Uzoma, recalled that in 2011, the managers were appointed from all the wards in the seven local government areas of the zone,  with a mandate to deliver Senator Odua.

They swung into action, each manager was given the option to either deliver his or her area or be removed which they all delivered.

“So, Odua was delivered in spite of strong challenges from other political opponents.
But she did not do anything for the managers until many years after the election , she had promised to address that challenge. She bought some motorcycles and tricycles which she allowed to rot in her Ogbaru resident , it was at the tail end of her first term in office that she started distributing the already rain-destroyed materials. Many were given tables, a carton of soap for each and other items at St Jude’s Catholic Church Fegge, Onitsha which they publicly rejected.

They noted that a month after the unceremonious distribution, Anambra state government disbanded motorcycle operations , leaving many of the beneficiaries confused and destabilized.

“In 2015 general election, we went into action again and as usual delivered her with the promise to reward us but up to date,she has not done anything.”

The executive members, said Odua rather has abandoned them and started recruiting new people from other political parties such as, All Progressives Congress (APC), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Labour Party (LP), among others who will work for her in the next election.

They alleged that Senator Oduah has been empowering the new recruits, giving them cars instead of the people who worked hard to deliver her in 2011 and 2015 respectively.

Against this backdrop, the managers said that it has been established that Odua is not a reliable politician and use and dump has become her stock in trade.

They therefore, called on the people of Anambra North Senatorial zone to reject her in event she presents herself in 2021 for re-election.

“The trick of making unfulfilled and rash promises cannot be condoned by the people.

They further noted that Hon. Lyda Ikpeazu never treated her supporters in such despicable and humiliating manners.

The managers said: “We are giving her 14 days to address this ominous exclusion and ill treatment being meted out against all managers”.

All efforts to get the reaction  of Senator Odua failed, as she neither picked calls made to her known mobile lines nor responded to a text message sent.
