POS operator shot in Rivers, cash taken away

A female POS operator has been shot dead by men suspected to be cultists at Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The attack which occured Sunday night was one too many of such in the GVC Road, Aleto axis of Eleme.

Cash on the victim were taken away by the killers. A relative of the deceased Alex Nwosu confirmed and said the attackers may be cultists.

Nwosu expressed shock over the incident he said caused pandemonium in the area

Insecurity he stated has been in the rise in the area at the moment.

He said, “I called on all political youth presidents in Aleto to act fast concerning security to save GVC residents,” he appealed.

Meanwhile, the remains of the deceased was deposited at a morgue in the area shortly after the incident.

The Rivers State Police Command,Spokesperson, SP Nnamdi Omoni, has however confirmed the incident.

He stated: “I was briefed about the attack this morning and the Eleme division are on thorough investigation to apprehend the culprits and bring them to book.”
