Oramalugo upbeat on trade facilitation, suppressing smuggling, cordiality with host community at Seme

The new Area Controller of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Seme Area Command, Dr Benedict Oramalugo, who tenure at the Oyo/Osun Area Command

was marked by notable achievements, as record-breaking revenue collection of over 15.3% increase, trade facilitation, peace, love and cordiality among officers and host community has promised to consolidate same at Seme.

Speaking at at the Seme-Krake Joint Border Post (JBP), where he officially assumed duty following a brief handover ceremony at the ECOWAS complex, Oramalugo commended the dedication of officers under the command.

Oramalugo expressed his commitment to bolstering border security, enforcement operations, and trade facilitation in alignment with the service’s mission of economic protection and national security.

He further reaffirmed his resolve to advance the policy direction of Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, particularly in the area of anti-smuggling measures aimed at enhancing national security.

“I am committed to consolidating the successes of my predecessors and ensuring seamless execution of the service’s mandate,” Oramalugo said. He pledged to maintain an open-door policy and prioritise operational efficiency, urging officers to continually improve their capacities to ensure the growth of the command and the NCS.

Expressing gratitude for his appointment, Oramalugo thanked the Comptroller General and the management team for entrusting him with various responsibilities, including his previous role as the Customs Area Controller of the Oyo/Osun Command.

Earlier, Deputy Comptroller Enforcement, Istifanus Musa, who had been overseeing the command since the retirement of the former controller, formally welcomed Oramalugo.

Musa assured the new controller of the full support and cooperation of officers in the Seme Area Command.
