Nigerians in France urge Bello to contest 2023 presidency

Nigerians residing in France have called on the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello to contest Nigeria’s presidency come 2023.

The group with the name, Governor Yahaya Bello Solidarity Movement(GYBSM) have joined the increasing call for the young, dynamic and patrotic governor to contest the presidency.

Coordinator of the group, Joy Robinson said in a statement on Sunday that their decision to back the Governor was because there’s need for a competent, energetic, capable, focused, pragmatic, detribalised, progressive, courageous and a religious moderate fellow to oversee the affairs of the country.

To them, a person with such qualities would assist in taking the country away from the current social and economic problems the citizens faced, adding that Bello has all the characteristics in addition to being a youth with a track record of performance to take Nigeria to the Next Level.

The statement reads in part; “After considering all the options available to us, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State has over time proven that he has portrayed the above traits because he’s a unifier, a reformer, a performer, fearless commander, a man who respects gender equality and an Egalitarian Leader par excellence.

“As Governor, he has fulfilled his constitutional obligations by Protecting the lives of his people, that has made him the most security conscious Governor in Nigeria.

“GYB has placed the health and well-being of his people ahead of politics by providing health care facilities and building of world class Hospitals across the three senatorial districts in Kogi State.

“GYB placed education as his first priority in governance because knowledge is power, he does this by building thousands of classroom and furnished them for conducive and convenient learning environment for all the students in Kogi State at various levels of education.

“GYB is known as an astute public administrator and gender equality leader, he has made the women folks to feel direct impact of governance by fulfilling the 35 percent affirmative act.

Above all, GYB is a God fearing and a result oriented Leader. “I want to enjoined all the good people of Nigeria both at home and all of us at diaspora to support GYB because he has the ability to unite our Nation, he’ll represent the interest of Nigerians wherever he finds himself, he’ll take us to the Next Level of development, he’ll revive the passion for human capacity building.

“Let’s support GYB for Presidency for a New Nigeria come 2023,” the statement concluded.

It will be recalled that last month, the GYBSM National Coordinator, Comrade Abedo Omeiza had asked the Nigerian youths both at home and in the diaspora to support one of their own , Governor Yahaya Bello to win the presidency so that Nigerian youths would be given a sense of belonging.

As if not enough, another youth group under the aegis of GYB2PYB

had also in January 2021 given GYB a 14-day ultimatum to accept the call to contest the presidential race.

Making the call in Abuja, the

National Coordinator of the group, Oladele John Nihi,said their call was necessitated by the “exemplary leadership of the Kogi State.governor”

The group while at the Kogi State Liaison Office in Abuja to forward their demand threatened that it would mobilize Nigerians to occupy the streets if he delays to accept its request describing the demand as borne out of patrotic desire.
