Maritime Workers Union strengthens presence with new units in Delta State

The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) under the leadership of Comrade Francis Bunu Abi, has inaugurated four new units under its Dockworkers Branch in Delta State.

The inauguration indeed has marked a new era in the union’s operations and in strengthening its presence in the region.

The President of Dockworkers Branch, Comrade Agboola Bolaji, at a post inauguration speech thanked the Unit officers and admonished them to be of best behavior, while carrying out their official functions in their various units according to the dictates of the Union’s constitution, so as not to bring the name of the Union into disrepute.

In a release signed by Comrade John Kennedy Ikemefuna, Head of Media, MWUN, the four units, strategically located in Delta State are: Ifiekoro/Obeji Unit, led by Chairman Endurance Odongharo Bobele and Secretary Andy Eyifoma Omagbemi; Sapele Unit, headed by Chairman Felix Oborodowan and Secretary Akoko Aghogho; Koko Unit, chaired by Happy Wilkie with Secretary Bright Dumkpemi; and Oghara Unit, led by Chairman Daniel Ayoka and Secretary Tanno Kingsley.

The Branch President, Comrade Bolaji, a leader of uncompromising standards and kind demeanor extended congratulations to the newly elected officers and executives, emphasizing the importance of being good ambassadors of the union at all times.

He stated that the inauguration of the new units signaled a new chapter for the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria.
