Lagos LGA  polls: Olasoju re-energizes APC, embarks on ward to ward campaign

…Assures youths of empowerment, reads riot act to idle ones

The humility, radiance; the youthfulness and finesse displayed by Hon Adebayo Olasoju, the All Progressive Congress (APC) Chairmanship candidate and his team as they embark on ward to ward campaign keep residents, even passersby in no doubt that its dawn of a new era in Isolo.

Olasoju, the Isolo Local Council Development Area(LCDA) chairmanship hopeful led from the ftont last Monday at exactly 2:00pm as he kicked off the ward -to- ward campaign.

From his campaign office situated opposite the SOS Children’s Village international home, Isolo the over three hours rally. Commenced.

The movement progressed from Isolo – Mushin road, down through the streets in Akinbaye Ward, dancing through the nooks and crannies of the area.

They traversed – through Oloruntobi street, Aregbe streets to mention but a few, down to the Osolo -way  at the Palace of Oba of Isolo to receive the royal blessing from His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabiru Adelaja Agbabiaka.Osolo of Isolo.

In consensus, majority of the residents absolutely in high spirit, were waving their hands from their balconies and the other corners of the road; hailing the candidate and his team.

The admirers certainly cut across party affiliation and tribal lines.

Oba Agbabiaka, welcoming the mammoth crowd in his palace charged the chairmanship candidate to always respect the wishes of the people. He enjoined him to continue the ongoing projects started in the area by his predecessor when elected.

The monarch further harped on the need for peace in the area he said: “make good use of those of them that will be useful to you when you win, don’t scare people away work in synergy with your deputy.

“all the people following you are doing so because they believe in you. You have a good platform, the APC, utilize it well, listen to the advice of leaders,”  the Oba said.

Hon Olusoju thanked the Oba, and promised that himself and his deputy will not let him and the people down.

He assured of his desire to work harmoniously with the councilors when elected as well as the supervisory councilors he would appoint to alleviate the suffering of the masses.

“We are aware of the present situation of things in the country today.  We will try our best to assuage the sufferings of our people. Everything shall be appropriately placed and the people will be happy.

“We have spoken to our people, whosoever does not want to go to school or learn a trade should leave the town for us because we deserve peace in our neighborhood.” He retreated.

Commending the chairmanship candidate, Apostle Chris Ezegbu, Chairman, Abundance Movement United (AMU), a Frontline political platform in the area said the abundance family came out en masse to show solidarity to the chairman and his team.

”our working relationship with Justice forum and Mandate no doubt is yielding productively, it’s  geared towards the interest of the party and our constituents which is our concern.

“the rally here today as you can see is fantastic. In the last three hours, all of us have been tirelessly moving round this electoral word, house-to-house, meeting and talking to people. This we will continue till the next one week.

“what we are seeing here today are signs of victory, an indication that.our alignment with Hon. Olasoju is a progressive one indeed because he is the choice of the people,” Abundance chairman said.

An  elder and a kingmaker in Akinbaye Ward, Chief Lawal Arowoye who spoke to Nation Update when the campaign train went upstairs (third floor into his apartment) to seek his fatherly blessing, expressed his gratitude for the APC candidate and his team for taking the pains of climbing up to seek his support and advice.

Pa Arowoye who is the number four in command to the royal stool of Isolo expressed optimism in the capability of the candidate whom he described as a humble and dedicated young man.

“we need to work for him to win, I totally support him to be the chairman so that we will all reap the dividends of democracy. He has my full support, God will see him through,” he stated.

At the palace of Chief Lisa of Isolo land, there was an irrepressible crowd that turned out from the neighbors and household. Many abandoned their businesses for show of solidarity to the chairmanship candidate, a food vendor in the area Mama Seun as she was called said she was excited seeing the young man in person.

“from the first day I set my eyes on his campaign poster, i initially  was so disgruntled because of his political platform considering where we are today in Nigeria, But my inner mind convinced me he is the right man for the job.

“Before now, I don’t like participating in politics, worst still voting for APC. But because of what I have heard from this young man, nothing will stop me from casting my vote for him and APC come 24th July by the grace of God,” she reaffirmed.

Jinadu Idowu was seated on her small chair in front of her house at Aromoye street from where she spotted the team, she was waving and hailing as if she had seen the messiah passing by, Olasoju wasted no time  as he moved down to her, his cap in his hands and his knees down to acknowledge her chairs and receive blessing from the aged woman.

She said, “we love him so dearly, good wine needs no bush, we believe in him that he will deliver, his humility speaks for him, he will make us proud. I urged him to move on, ‘nothing do you’ we are behind you,” Idowu bellowed in ecstasy.

The campaign having started in Akinbaye ward  being one of the seven wards in the council, Eletu Adedeji also known as Shikaro commended the APC candidate whom he said has never minced words in telling every ear that cares of what he is going to do to transform the area and the people.

“our incoming chairman has outlined all he is going to do, we are convinced he will fulfill them, Kabiyesi has given him and his deputy the needed royal blessing.

“He is someone we have known very well. Himself and his deputy have worked together for over eight years. We are not in doubt of harmonious relationship among them. The deputy has been a councilor while himself has been an SA to one-time council chairman.

” We have started the campaign in my ward, we will end on the seventh day at Ilasa. The crowd you have seen today will continue to increase as the days go by because our candidate is a grassroot person, he is loved by the people,” Shikaro said.

Speaking to Nation update at the end of the day’s campaign rally, Olasoju commended the party for its developmental strides in the area, promised to continue the good works of his predecessors, assured that through the help of God almighty, greater Isolo is in the offing.
