FRSC’s achievements position Nigeria as leading voice in road safety – VP Shettima

The Vice President of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, has commended the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) for its remarkable achievements in road safety management, which have earned Nigeria recognition as a leader in West Africa and the continent.

Speaking at the 8th FRSC Annual Lecture Series held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Shettima praised the Corps Marshal for resuscitating the lecture series and charged the FRSC to continue leveraging global partnerships and innovations to drive compliance with road safety laws and regulations.

These achievements  of the Nigerian FRSC he said have positioned Nigeria as a lead voice in West Africa and the continent, with the country hosting the Permanent Secretariat of the West Africa Road Safety Organization (WARSO) and the Africa Lead Agencies on Road Safety (ARSLA).

Shettima praised the Corps Marshal for reviving the Annual Lecture Series, which has become a strategic platform for reviewing performance, creating awareness, and advancing innovative approaches to road safety management.

The Vice President urged the FRSC to remain resolute in leveraging global partnerships and innovations to drive compliance with road safety laws and regulations.

He assured that the Federal Government recognizes road crashes as a major public health and socio-economic challenge and will continue to support FRSC in its quest to entrench global best practices in road safety administration.

The number two citizen emphasized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government’s commitment to reducing road crash fatalities and injuries by 50% by 2030.
