The Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, has elected two new bishops and re-elected two archbishops in its Episcopal Synod held on July 11, 2025, at Emmanuel Anglican Church, Iji-Nike, Enugu State.
The synod which commenced with an eucharistic service, saw the election of two clergymen as bishops-elect and the re-election of two current archbishops for a second term of five years.
The Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, The Most Rev. Dr. Henry Ndukuba,announced election bishops as The Ven Dr. Samuel Adekunle Ola Osungbeju as the bishop-elect of Osun North-East Diocese and The Very Rev. Dr. Akintunde Ojofeitimi as the bishop-elect of Ilesa South West Diocese.

Most Rev’d’s Cyril Odutemu and Marcus Ibrahim
The re-elected archbishops are The Most Rev’d Dr. Cyril Odutemu for the Bendel Province and The Most Rev’d Marcus Ibrahim for the Jos Province.
In a release signed by Korode Akintunde, Church of Nigeria Communication Officer, the primate urged all faithful to pray and support the newly elected servants of God and their families as they embark on their new roles. He also called on the newly elected fathers in God to pray and seek God’s face for direction and power in their new roles.
The release further stated that the consecration of the Bishops-elect and the presentation of the Archbishops-elect will hold on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the Standing Committee Meeting of the Church to be hosted by Ekiti Diocese of Ekiti State.
