Customs makes statement on Dikko Inde’s death

Nigeria Customs Service has confirmed the death of the immediate past Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Abdullah Dikko Inde.

This is cotained in a release by the National Public Relations Officer (NPRO) of the Service, Deputy Comptroller Joseph Attah on Thursday.

Dikko who hailed from Katsina state, was the CG of Customs between 2009 and 2015.

The former CG is said to have died of cancer case complicated by Covid-19.

“The family of the former Comptroller General of Customs, Abdullahi Dikko Inde just announced his passing away today.

“His funeral prayers ( Janaza ) will take place tomorrow, Friday 19th February, 2020 after Jumaat Prayers at National Mosque Abuja.

“Dikko was the Comptroller General of Customs from 2009 to 2015 during the regimes of late Umaru Yaradua and Goodluck Jonathan.

“May Allah Forgive his shortcomings and may Aljannatul Firdausi be his final abode. May Allah give his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. Amen,” the report stated.

The 61 years old former Customs boss is survived by one wife and three children –two sons and a daughter.

He attended Government College, Kaduna in 1974 where he obtained the West African Senior School Certificate Examination in 1980.

He had a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a Masters degree in Finance from the University of Dimitrov Apostle Tshenov, Svishtov, Bulgaria.

He joined the Nigerian Customs Service in 1988 and was the CG of Customs from 2009 to 2015.
