COVID-19: Senatorial hopeful advocates ban on Chinese from American Universities

..Debtor nations to China asked not to pay

A senatorial aspirant in the United States of America, Corky Messner has called for the ban on Chinese students from studying in American universities and colleges.

Massner a Republican running for Senate seat in New Hampshire in the nearing congress  elections said this has become necessary following the alleged role China played in spreading the coronavirus.

He said the Chinese Communist Party’s negligence has brought the world to this precarious health situation, he further called on developed nations who are financially indebted  to China to refuse payment of such debts.

“The Chinese Communist Party must be held accountable for the damages they have caused the world as a result of their gross negligence, conduct ― and I might even argue that it was criminally negligent conduct,”

“We also have to, I think, not allow Chinese students to attend American universities, because they come here and they become educated, and they go back with our intellectual property.”

“The United States can no longer be the research and development arm for the Chinese Communist Party. It’s just not acceptable.”

Messner who spoke via a virtual town hall meeting he hosted said, “developed countries of the world who owe China money should stand shoulder-to-shoulder and refuse to pay the debt.”

He argued that it has become necessary now for U.S. to focus more on border security and in bringing manufacturing jobs back to the United States.

in 2018 Stephen Miller an anti-immigration hardliner had through a proposal to White House asked President Donald Trump to stop providing visas to Chinese citizens, which would make it impossible for them to study in the US.

Miller’s proposal could not fly considering the economic and diplomatic effect it would have on America.

Many are of the opinion that banning students from just China in retaliation for the coronavirus would not address that issue, as the travel restrictions already in place as a result of the pandemic has affected many Chinese students from continuing, or starting, their education in the United States.

Messner, an attorney and former Army Ranger, has praised Trump for his commitments in fighting the coronavirus.

However, the claim of China creating the virus has been widely rejected by scientists.
