Bishop Onuoha cautions youths against falling into hands of fake prophets

The Archbishop of the Owerri Ecclesiastical Province, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Most Reverend David Onuoha has enumerated actions necessary for effective performance of ministry.

He gave the tips in his sermon at the Institution and Induction of Venerable Chukwudi Nwanneka Obioma Ekeanyanwu, as the Vicar of the Cathedral Church of Saint Paul’s Anglican Church, Ezeoke Nsu in Ehime-Mbano Local Governmemt Area of Imo State

The fervent man of God called on congregants to believe in prophets saying it is the bedrock of a successful Christian journey.

He also warned against moving from one prayer institution to another reiterating that such would not solve the problems of the people.

“Believe in His prophets, you will succeed. If you want to succeed, you are to believe His prophets.

“For us to succeed we must listen to His prophets, be obedient to their teachings and admonitions they will not decieve you. Your prayers will be answered when you listen to his prophets.

“Religious prostitution is not solution to our problems

Moving from one prayer house to the other is not solution to our problems.

“Hannah had no child, she went to God fervently prayed, made promise to God and God answered her and gave her a son she willingly gave back to God in fulfilment of her promise.

“Trust in God, listen to his prophets, you will succeed in life.

The Bishop however cautioned overzealous youths against falling into the hands of deceitful prophets who will cajole them into quick wealth which according to him, may not be through righteous means. Not only that it will not last but will bring perpetual suffering upon them and their families.

For parents, he admonished them to always query the source of anything suspicious their children bring home as well as teach them the way of the Lord.

“Our Youths are over desirous to make wealth. At 17 years, when they ought to be in school or in apprenticeship, they want to be billionaires.

A fake Pastor Michael Bassey arrested in Cross River state by the police for allegedly being in possession of human skull.

“There are fake prophets who teach only principle of making money without principle of righteousness. They will decieve them into the teaching of how to sow seed in the morning, by evening they begin to reap,(be come billionaires).

“Parents should always question their children when they bring wealth home, they need to start early to teach them the way of the Lord, else when they ask them to bring someone for ritual/sacrifice, they will bring their parents.

“Let’s listen to our prophets. Not just prophets, genuine prophets.

Listen to what he teaches, it shall be well with you.

“We hope there will be revival and progress when we listen to our prophets.”
