Even in prison custody, sensuality breeds and flows in human, to this end, female prisoners in Mtangani GK Prison in Kenya have called on the country’s authority to initiate a global reform that would allow them have intimacy with their husbands whenever they visit.
They said it has become imperative for the government to implement a new law which will enable them have such privileges because they are in dire need of intimacy and getting imprisoned does not mean their hormones are also imprisoned.
Reasoning that most of them are sexually active, they wonder why imprisonment should force them to conjugal infidelity.
According to Sofia Swaleh, a prison inmate serving a life sentence, who made the appeal on behalf of her fellow female prisoners said the time is now.
She said, “The Government, through the leadership of Kenyan prisons, should introduce a law that allows women serving lengthy jail terms enjoy intimacy with their visiting husbands.”
“This is very important and crucial for governments in the world to consider, it would help the woman in prison, the husband outside prison, and the family keep moving, since its not a permanent separation by death.”
The situation on ground is necessary at this point in time, countries of the world should as well lend thier voices to it, they need to make a move. Indeed there should truly be a law to allow intimacy with prisoners at correctional centres which should also extend to men who are married.
