Kogi APC’s rancour-free ward congresses signal strong 2027 readiness – State chairman

 

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State has described its just-concluded ward congress as a major success, following what it termed a peaceful and rancour-free exercise conducted across all 239 wards and 21 local government areas of the state.

Addressing journalists in Lokoja on Sunday, the State Chairman, Abdullahi Bello, said the seamless conduct of the congresses reflected the party’s internal cohesion, discipline and growing political maturity, noting that the orderly process reinforces the APC’s strength and readiness for future electoral contests.

According to him, the peaceful outcome of the exercise underscores the party’s political sophistication, strong internal cohesion and commitment to democratic principles.

“The smooth and orderly conduct of the congress is a reflection of our strong foundation and the unwavering dedication of our members to our shared values and goals,” he said.

Bello noted that the exercise has further strengthened the party’s unity ahead of the 2027 general elections, sending what he described as a “strong message” to political opponents’ that the APC remains formidable and well-positioned for future contests.

He expressed profound appreciation to the Governor of Kogi State for his leadership and inclusive approach throughout the process. The chairman credited the Governor’s engagement with stakeholders and commitment to fairness for creating a level playing ground that ensured broad acceptance of the outcomes.

He also commended the National Working Committee of the APC for organising what he termed one of the most rancour-free congresses in the party’s history. The representatives of the national body, he said, conducted the exercise with integrity, transparency and a high sense of responsibility.

The chairman further lauded security agencies for their professionalism and neutrality, noting that their presence and vigilance contributed significantly to the peaceful conduct of the congresses across the state.

Bello thanked party leaders, stakeholders and members for their enthusiasm, discipline and loyalty, describing their participation as the driving force behind the party’s success.
