Viral ‘Tinubu Speaks’ trending Statement is fake, says presidency

In a swift reaction to a viral video trending, titled, ‘Tinubu Speaks’ credited to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, presidency has distanced it self from the publication, denied authenticity of such.

The President’s spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, has dismissed the viral message attributed to his principal as fake news.

“Based on recent inquiries, I wish to reiterate that this is fake and does not emanate from the Presidency,” Ngelale stressed

The fabricated statement had been widely shared on social media platforms, purported to be a speech from President Tinubu addressing the nation’s economic challenges.

It outlined a series of drastic measures, including a 50% salary cut for top government officials, the scrapping of the Office of the First Lady, and the restoration of fuel and electricity subsidies as some measures to ameliorate the current suffering of the masses.

The fake message also claimed that the president was planning to reduce the number of his ministers, sell off presidential aircraft, and implement a ban on foreign medical trips for government officials.
