Lockdown: Lagos digital training  for18,000 teachers  commences

The Lagos State planned digital training for 18,000 Secondary School Teachers in collaboration with Microsoft Office, represented by ATB Techsoft Solutions, aimed at achieving technological transformation of the school system in the state has kicked off.

The Programme tagged ” Work- From -Home, Remote Teaching and Learning for Secondary School Teachers in the state is to digitalize training, mentoring, observation, creating and sharing subject-specific content, accessing interactive classes from mobile phones and devices.

The programme will also aid in  diagnosing and understanding learning needs, challenges and assigns homework, it will gives feedbacks and auto-grade quizzes/tests remotely and internal stakeholders engagement during the COVID-19 lockdown.

The Commissioner for Education, Lagos State, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo while speaking on benefits of the programme on Lagos Teachers and Schools emphasized that the training would have huge mileage on the overall technology transformation of the school system in Lagos.

In her submission,  the   Chairman, Lagos State Teaching Service Commission, (TESCOM ), Mrs Elizabeth Ariyo, stated that the highly robust course content and its sustainability on the long-term is part of Microsoft Office Corporate Social Responsibility ( CSR) to the society.

The programme Ariyo said is easily accessible through mobile smartphones, Web browsers and robust platform for up to 1 million students, teachers and officials at a time.

The TESCOM Chairman however commended the efforts of Microsoft Office through their representative, ATB Techsoft Solutions, in utilising the stay at home period to equip, train and engage secondary schools teachers.
