Nigerian youths ‘ve demonstrated strength, capability globally, deserve govt support – Ex – Lagos lawmaker

As the global community roll out drums to celebrate the International Youth Day(IYD), Hon Dr Jude Chukwuemeka Omobowale Idimogu, has expressed his delight on the achievements of youths world over especially in Nigeria stating they are high achievers who deserve all needed support to conquer.

The two term Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, described Nigerian youth as path finders and great achievers who are holding their heads high and greatly proving themselves in the global map.

He therefore called on governments at all level to provide enabling environment for the youth to activate their potentials for the benefit of the nation.

In a statement signed by his SA on Media and Publicity, Henry Uzodinma, Hon. idimogu, noted that Nigerian youth are high achievers who are making the country proud, adding that all they need, is the opportunities to demonstrate their strength and capabilities.

Idimogu who is a Knight of St Mulumba(KSM) and the Igbo deputy Apex Leader, Lagos, further prayed for peace and security in our great country and support to the present administration, as the world marks International Youth Day.

He urged Nigerians to always strive to ensure that our national motto: “Unity, Faith, Peace and Progress” is a reality and not just mere rhetoric.

The former Lawmaker further urged leaders to support the youth rather than discourage them with in words and action, the leaders must give our youth hope by using our language to draw out the very best in them.

“What our youth need is opportunities to showcase their positive talents. They need leaders who believe in them and show affirmation to their thoughts and ingenuity.

“Going by the theme of IYD 2023: ‘Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World’, which delightfully dwelled on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) leaving no one behind.

“This day acknowledges the challenges faced by the youth and how to eliminate the issues. Their volunteering spirit on various social projects cannot be played down.

The lawmaker went further to say, “The youth are already making us proud both locally and internationally. Nigerian youth are showcasing their brilliance and prowess in all parts of the world.

“These youth are epitome of hardworking and innovation, who have projected our dear country positively before the comity of nations” Idimogu added.

The International Youth Day is Observed on August 12, every year to offer a platform to honor the qualities of youth and the potential that they hold towards development of a nation and the world as a whole.
