Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has predicted a landslide victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state in the 2027 general elections, expressing confidence that President Bola Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo will enjoy overwhelming support from the electorate.
Bello, who is seeking to represent Kogi Central Senatorial District in the Senate, made the prediction on Saturday during his homecoming, which attracted a large gathering of supporters who turned out to welcome him.
The former governor said the massive reception had reinforced his confidence in the APC’s grassroots support across the state, particularly in Kogi Central, where he believes the party retains a strong political following.

“I’ve never doubted that my people are with me 100 percent. I’ve never doubted that my people are supporting APC 100 percent,” Bello said.
He described the turnout as a demonstration of the bond between him and the people he served as governor, insisting that their show of support was spontaneous and not induced.
“It’s organic. It’s inborn, it’s inherent, it’s in our DNA, and I sincerely appreciate them,” he said, while expressing gratitude to his supporters for the reception.
Bello also reaffirmed his confidence in Tinubu and Ododo, saying he expected the electorate to support the APC-led administrations at the federal and state levels.
According to him, the party’s commitment to infrastructure development and the delivery of democratic dividends would encourage voters to support its candidates in the forthcoming elections.
He maintained that the people of Kogi State understood the direction of the APC-led governments and would sustain their support for the party in 2027.
Addressing the President, Bello declared that the APC was poised for victory in the state, particularly in Kogi Central, where he is seeking a return to elective office.
“I want to assure the President that the Kogi State election, and the election of Kogi Central in particular, is as good as done 100 percent for APC,” he said.
The former governor also thanked God, the APC, Tinubu, Ododo and party members at all levels for their support, describing the homecoming as a reflection of the party’s political structure and grassroots presence in the state.
Earlier, former Kogi State APC Chairman, Abdullahi Bello, described the turnout as a significant demonstration of the people’s attachment to the former governor.
He said the gathering reflected the admiration of supporters for a leader they credited with contributing to the development of Ebira land and political mobilisation across the state.
“This is the homecoming of a leader that liberated the whole of Ebira, and we all turned out to welcome him. It’s not an easy thing,” the former party chairman said.
Bello’s prediction comes as political activities gradually build towards the 2027 general elections, with the former governor expressing confidence that the APC would retain strong support in Kogi State and secure victories across the various electoral contests.
