The spate of insecurity, hoodlums menace, flooding and many other socio-economic challenges starring Lagos State on the face was topical at the weekend when Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adeniran, popularly known as Jandor met with all the Lagos
People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidates in the 2023 general elections.
Jandor who is the 2023 Lagos PDP Governorship Candidate in his remarks at the strategic meeting held at the Sheraton Hotels, Ikeja said time has come to bring to an end the 20 years recycling of same idea by the rulling All Progressive Congress(APC) in the state.
He said given the huge amount of revenue the state generates, residents of the state irrespective of tribe and religion ought to have a breath of fresh air in the environment and in their economic life contrary to the poor and abysmal living the state presently offer.
The PDP governorship hopeful said, “What we have is a government that is tired, recycling the same set of people for the past 20 years, what do we expect when we continue to do one thing the same way over and over again, definitely we will get the same result.

“We will see this time how we can make Lagos work for everybody living in Lagos. Irrespective of where you are from, we are one created by same God. Our state is richly blessed.
“we need a breath of fresh air on our roads, away from traffic, theft, and away from hoodlums. It’s now raining season you can see how everywhere is, for a rich state like ours, it’s unacceptable.
“My promise, that of our senatorial candidates, house of representatives and that of house of assembly candidates is that we are going to disappoint many people who think this state has been sold finally to APC. I want to believe strongly that this meeting is the commencement of total exit of the draconian APC.
“We are going to pull a surprise, we will win this election so long as there will be a level playing ground as INEC has promised. All we need is to sit down and see how we can give to people that fare share,” Jandor stated.
On internal crises in the party, Jandor said as a family, internal wranglings cannot be ruled out, but most cheering it is that they have been able to sheathe their swords in a resolve to work together to win government and usher in new lease of life to all Lagosians.
“As far as PDP is concerned, and in the state of Lagos, what we have today is a new Lagos PDP, you have seen the faces here, you have seen that we have been able to inject that young energies into the party in Lagos, it’s our time.
“Our party is done with all primaries into elective positions in Lagos and Abuja. we are now faced with that Herculean task of winning elections which is primarily why political parties are formed.
“We are confronting a ruling party that has been there for over 20 years. We want to come in with a better and different approach to issues. We are optimistic of getting a different result, we will not disappoint Lagosians as they are looking unto us, they are waiting on us.
“Be rest assured we are taking over, We are coming with that big bang. 2023 election is the end game for APC in the state of Lagos.

A Nigerian singer, Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, who is the PDP House of Representatives candidate for Eti -Osa federal Constituency while speaking at the event expressed confidence that the party will win this time.
“Am very confident in the crop of people we have in our party in Lagos, the crop of candidates and leadership that we have. This time, the story will be different.
“It gladdens my heart that the party went through the right process to make sure that we have the right people.
“For those that have been following the party, they saw the party ordered for rerun which we participated and won a second time. For me, it was an encouraging sign that the party was willing to do things the right way.
“By the grace of God and with the support of the people, the story will be different. It starts from being self aware that this is not going to be a walk in the park, definitely something we need to consider as a great challenge, be rest assured the masses will win this time through us.” Banky W said.
To Segun Adewale, the Senatorial Candidate of the party for Lagos West strongly affirmed that all indications tilt to the fact that Jandor has been ordained to govern the state and place it where it rightfully belong.
Also speaking, the Lagos East Senatorial candidate of the party,
Hon Nicholas Adekunle Akobada, affirmed his confidence on the party’s winning streak in all the elections in 2023 both in Lagos and at the federal level.

Stating that the about 60,000 members of the APC who are of Lagos4Lagos block that pulled out from the party in the state is enough signal that Lagosians have lost 100 percent confidence in the party.
